It’s time to get retro and have a wander down memory lane with a look at some of the most well known 90s female porn stars. We start at the top with some familiar 90s British porn stars - from models that have made it big with the giant US studios, to lads mags icons like Jo Guest, not to mention a couple that will be very familiar to long-time fans of Babestation TV! We round it off with some honourable mentions - performers that you just have to include in any list of the top 90s porn stars.
Lynda Leigh
Starting us off is someone most of you will recognise, having spent many years toward the end of her career entertaining the punters on Babestation TV. Known for her sexy voice and reminding some of Carol Vorderman, Lynda Leigh got her start by featuring in many top-shelf magazines like Swank, Razzle, Men Only, Fiesta & Penthouse. She went on to become one of a handful of 90s British porn stars to forge a lasting career in modelling. In the late 90s, Lynda Leigh featured in a number hardcore porn shoots for Ben Dover Productions, under the stage name Gaynor. Probably her most famous 90s porn feature was in Ben Dover’s 1996 production Banned In Britain. Now retired, we’re sure plenty of you out there miss the legend that is Lynda Leigh!
Robbin Banx
Originally from Camden Town in London, Robbin Banx pushes the ‘90s porn stars’ remit a little, having started to dip her toe in the industry in the late 90s before becoming much more well known around the year 2000, the year she featured as a Playboy CyberGirl Of The Week (December ‘00). For a while she lived in the Playboy Mansion and was the girlfriend of Hugh Hefner himself for a time. Her early career was spent more as a glamour model and Playboy Bunny, before becoming a fully-fledged British porn star MILF around 2017, after the passing of Hefner, who was apparently never a fan of the idea.
Nici Sterling
Born in Epsom, Surrey in 1972, Nici Sterling was one of the more well known 90s female porn stars - her active years being 1994-2006. Nici Sterling, like so many others of the time, got her start doing topless and nude modelling for The Daily Sport. It was actually during her time with Daily Sport that she made her debut into hardcore porn, when the paper ran a competition where 10 lucky readers won the chance to star in an orgy with Nici, which was to be filmed and sold as a porno flick. Now there’s something you couldn’t see happening today! In 1996, Nici Sterling won and AVN Award for Best Looking Starlet in the adult industry. Retiring in 2006, she was inducted into the AVN Hall Of Fame in 2007.
Linsey Dawn McKenzie
If you’re a red-blooded, early millennial man, there’s a high chance you’ve come across Linsey Dawn McKenzie at some point in your life - being that she was a mainstay of the redtop rags and lads mags of the mid to late 90s. Linsey’s career got going at an age that would probably seem quite controversial these days, doing some fully-clothed glamour and swimwear work when she was 15, after sending some sample photos of herself to local modelling agencies. She made her topless debut in, where else, The Daily Sport, after her 16th birthday. She could also be found in The Daily Star, as a page 3 girls in The Sun, and in magazines such as Loaded, Mayfair and Men Only. She made her US modelling debut at the age of 18 in breast fetish magazine Score, before going on to appear on adult TV channels like Television X. Hailing from Manchester, England and born in 1973, 90s British porn star, Nadia Nyce had a brief career in the adult industry - last a year or less - but it was a career that burned bright enough to warrant a mention! One very few South-Asian heritage porn actresses to make it Stateside, especially back then, Nadia Nyce shot her first hardcore porn scenes with Rodney Moore in October 1995 and went onto shoot exclusively with Moore over the next 6 months or so. Moore would later say in an interview that he shot as many as 50 scenes with Nadia in that time, in a bid for exclusivity and so no other large studios would snap up this talented performer. Throughout her short career, Nadia Nyce was known as ‘The Princess Of Cream’ because of her tendency to have her male counterparts finish on her face! Well… there you go.
Linzi Drew
Linzi Drew was a gorgeous, blonde babe from Bristol who did the bulk of her work in glamour modelling, producing and hardcore porn throughout the 80s, but was active into the early 90s. Born in May 1958, Linzi Drew had quite a varied career within the world of adult entertainment, working as a Page 3 girl, stripper, glamour model, and porn star. Michelle Thorne is one of those British porn stars that should need no introduction to any long-time fans of Babestation, having joined the show in the early years and shot a good amount of hardcore with us! Just creeping into the list of 90s female porn stars - beginning her career in 1999 with the movie All Amateur: Girls of the UK - Michelle is another Bristolian, born in 1979. Michelle Thorne has had a wide ranging career in the adult industry, one that is still going strong today. She’s plied her trade as a glamour model & porn star, a writer, director, producer, escort and even singer, having appeared in the talent search shows during season 2 of X Factor! When it comes to British porn and 90s porn stars, there just aren’t many more familiar faces than Michelle.
Sarah Louise Young
Born in 1971 in Sidcup, Sarah Louise Young was a trailblazing British porn star of the late 80s and 90s. She began her career at quite a tender age, in her mid to late teens, after being spotted by a photographer in the street. She agreed to shoot some trial pics for The Sun’s Page 3 and, after widespread positive response to the shoot, received an invitation to join a modelling agency for the first time. At the age of 18 she took the plunge and joined the roster of British 90s porn stars, modelling for Private magazine over in the Costa Del Sol. When it came to shooting her first hardcore porn scene, Sarah Louise Young was not backwards in coming forward, filming a gang bang with 5 other men - talk about deep end! She was a very familiar face throughout the 90s within the world of adult modelling, having appeared in a number of porn magazines such as Hustler, Penthouse, Page 3, Playboy, Loaded & FHM. Jo Guest began her career in modelling after coming across an advert for it while doing a hairdressing course at her local college and once she was in, she didn’t look back! If you were a bloke in your 20s or 30s in the 90s, the chances are you’d seen Jo Guest somewhere. Retiring in the early 2000s as a legendary industry figure, Silvia Saint was one of the most iconic porn stars of the 90s. Born in Czechoslovakia in 1976, Silvia initially began a career in the hospitality sector, first as a receptionist before going on to manage a hotel. She started modelling in the early 90s when her striking beauty started to catch the attention of photographers. She transitioned into the adult industry in 1996 and quickly rose in fame on the Euro porn scene, starring in productions like The Cleopatra (1997), Naked & Wild (1998) & High Society (1999). Silvia Saint won a ton of awards throughout her career, cementing herself as a giant among 90s female porn stars.
Tera Patrick
Tera Patrick was born in Great Falls, Montana, in 1976 and is, hands-down, one of the most famous 90s porn stars ever. With her striking Eurasian features and natural beauty, she quickly rose to prominence in the porn industry after beginning her career in the late 1990s. Tera Patrick is best known for her performances in well-known adult films such as Island Fever (2001), Reign of Tera (2002), and Tera, Tera, Tera (2003).
